Angeline Evelyn Attanasio, née DiCerbo, passed away on December 9, 2025 in Frederick Maryland. Born in 1924 in Schenectady, NY, Angeline was the daughter of Pasquale and Giuseppa "Giuseppina" DiCerbo of Webster Street, Schenectady NY. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 65 years, Louis J. Attanasio (1925-2012), also of Schenectady.

Angeline was a 1942 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. She met her husband in 1943, when both were employed at the General Crystal Corporation. They were married on May 11, 1947 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church by Father Almerico DiCerbo.

Angeline was a devoted wife and mother. Her proudest accomplishment was ensuring her children would go to college, which family circumstances prevented her from doing for herself. After leaving General Crystal, she was employed periodically from the 1940s until 1970 at the Wallace Company in the jewelry department and "Better Dresses."  In the early 1970s she joined Community State Bank as a proof operator. She retired from there as a teller when her husband retired from Knolls Atomic Power Lab, about 1985.

The Attanasios were residents of the Town of Rotterdam and communicants of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church until 1999 when they moved to Maryland to be closer to their children.

Angeline is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and all of her siblings and their spouses: Sadie (Pasquale) DiCerbo, Louis, Bartholomew, and Mary DiCerbo, Helen (Frank) Capablo, Louis (Rosemary) DiCerbo, and Louise (Gilbert "Bob") Voris. She is survived by her children John (Maryanne Schiller), Lawrence (Ann), and Donna Attanasio; her grandchildren, James (Shannon), Gregory, David (Zully), Laura (Adam Dahl), and Benjamin (Kiley Strong) Attanasio, Alexander (Emilia Morano-Williams) and Nicholas (Cici Wang) Francisci; and her great-grandchildren Camille, Daniel, and Evelyn Attanasio, Phoebe and Lola Dahl, and Valentina Melendez; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anna and John DiGiandomenico; and four generations of nieces and nephews.

Angie enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and knitting, among other activities; was active in PTA and her high school reunion committee; and for many years she made and donated caps for newborn babies to her local hospital. She delighted in talking and visiting with family and friends until days before her death at age 101. She frequently remarked, "I've had a good life."

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union St, Schenectady, NY, followed by a prayer service at the funeral home. Burial will be at St Anthony's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Friends of Schenectady County Public Library, with a designation to the STARS program for early childhood reading success, or the charity of your choice.
