SCOTIA:  Carmella R. (Capato) Hills, 85, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush. Camella was born in Gloversville to the late Sam and Florence (DeRicco) Capato.

She worked as a nurse at the Fulton Montgomery Infirmary, in Gloversville, for several years. Camella was an accomplished photographer. She had some of her photos published by Hallmark Cards and Daily Words.

Carmella was predeceased by her son, James Johnson.

She is survived by her husband; Wayne A. Hills, Sr., her children; Cheryl Page and Anthony Johnson, Toni Hills, Cindy Hills and Wayne Hills, Jr. and one brother; Justin Capato.

Calling hours, which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Scotia, following the calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
