Daniel J. Rourke

Daniel J. (D.J.) Rourke, Jr., of Hobe Sound, Florida, died August 17, 2026 at Jupiter Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 69. D.J. was born at Ellis Hospital on March 23, 1957. He attended Schenectady Public Schools, beginning at Elmer Avenue School, then on to Central Park Junior High School and then Linton High School, graduating from the latter in 1975. He worked all his life in construction, beginning as a laborer for Schenectady’s Sweet Associates, Inc. D.J. moved to Florida in 1983 and worked four decades as a carpenter there.

D.J. was predeceased by his parents, Daniel J. Rourke, M.D. and Barbara McMahon Rourke, both of Schenectady. He is survived by his sister Sheilah of Boynton Beach, Florida and brother Brien of Brooklyn, New York. Arrangements were made by Boynton Memorial Chapel in Florida and Gleason Funeral Home in Schenectady. D.J. will be laid to rest at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
