NISKAYUNA: David Teta, 74, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025, at Ellis Hospital. David was born in Schenectady to the late Paul and Patricia Babin Teta. He was a graduate of Schalmont High School, class of 1969 and attended the Rochester Institute of Technology. David worked in the banking industry for 45 years where he truly enjoyed building relationships with his customers, both at Great Barrington Savings Bank in MA and at 1st National Bank of Scotia.
David greatly enjoyed being outdoors with friends or family; canoeing, hiking, cycling and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a history buff and avid reader, and enjoyed classical music and good wine. David was never far from his four-legged children, Blondie, Lily and Petie.
He is survived by his beloved family: his wife of 48 years; Laurie Larson, his daughter, Carly (Anthony) Gallais of Compiegne, France, three grandchildren, Apolline, Gabriel and Aurelien Gallais.
David loved all of his friends dearly and appreciated everything they did for him throughout his life. The family would like to thank them as well as all the staff at Ellis Hospital for the excellent care they provided.
Calling hours will be Monday, December 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union St., Schenectady. There will be remarks of remembrances from 11:30 a.m. until 12 noon. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to the MDS Foundation.
