SCHENECTADY: Louis R. "Lou" DiCerbo, 95, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Ellis Hospital. Lou was born in Schenectady to the late Pasquale and Elvira Riccio DiCerbo. He worked as a photographer for the General Electric Company, retiring from the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory. Lou was a volunteer at the Schenectady City Mission. Also, on his own, he volunteered to deliver bread from Perreca's and Panera Bread to the former Carmelite Monastery, Ellis Hospital Emergency Room, Schenectady City Mission and to battered women's shelters.
Lou is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rose DiCerbo, three children, Louis (Robin Stafford, DMD) DiCerbo of Western Springs, IL, Margaret (Patrick) Golden of Niskayuna and Marina DiCerbo of San Francisco, CA, one sister, Esther Graham, and three grandchildren, Andrew, Olivia and Dan. He was predeceased by one sister, Margaret Gray.
Calling hours will be Monday, January 12, 2026, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church. Burial will follow the mass at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Schenectady City Mission, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305. "Lou will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and many others because of his humor, warmth, and generosity."
