Obituary

Marlene Bette (Fisher) Dufort, 92, passed away February 12, 2026.  She was born April 15, 1933 in Ogdensburg, NY, daughter of Harry and Lillian (Deuval) Fisher.  She married Roger Dufort November 21, 1953 (d. 2016).  She lived in Larchmont, NY for fifty years.

She is survived by five children: Clarence "Duke" (Carol Jo), Lewis (Cynthia), Cheryl, Richard and Jill; daughter-in-law, Melissa; eleven grandchildren: Amy Galvin, Elizabeth Dufort, Christoper Dufort, Jeremy Dufort, Steven Dufort, James Dufort, Alise Hoffmann, Samuel Dufort, Luke Dufort, Lilly Hottel and Abbriss Hottel; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Susan Catlin; several sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews as well as friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marlene was predeceased by her sons, Peter and James, and eleven siblings: Stewart "Tootie" Fisher, Austin Fisher, Robert Fisher, John (Jack) Fisher, Richard (Dick) Fisher, James Fisher, Jerry Fisher, and Lawrence Fisher, Jeanine Thibert, Lynn LaFave, and Henrietta Fisher.

Marlene was dedicated to her husband, Roger (63 years), her family and friends, her Catholic Faith, God and her mental health.  All were welcome in her home; taken care of and fed well.  From childhood and throughout her life, she believed in hard work and good outcomes, and her children liked to call her a "scrapper"!  In her younger years, she was an outstanding Recovery, Intl. leader, helping many, and she practiced Recovery principles to her dying days.  She could paint with the best; kept a well-decorated home; loved working in her back yard and being involved with The Larchmont Women's Club.  Marlene worked as a health aide, a nanny and for thirty-five years she worked in various capacities for St. Augustine's Church – most notably as the leader of the Seniors' Group.

A funeral service will be held at St. Augustine's Church in Larchmont, NY on Saturday, March 28th at 11:00AM.  Burial services at St. Mary's in Ogdensburg will follow at a later date.
