NISKAYUNA:  Pamela Garkowski, 77, died at home, Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Pam was born in White Plains, NY and had lived in the Schenectady area since 1975.

She was a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University with a bachelor of science degree in medical technology. Pam was a certified medical technologist and ran a lab at Capital Clinical Laboratory in Latham.

She was an active parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, Rosa Road, Schenectady where she did a great deal of volunteering. She also volunteered at the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady and was a foster mom to over 100 cats.

Pam was predeceased by her half- brother, Thomas Dellaero. She is survived by her husband of 51 years; Carl J. Garkowski, sister-in-law; Judi Ryan, numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral, which will begin, Monday, June 15, 2026, at 8:15 a.m.  at the Gleason Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 2216 Rosa Road, Schenectady. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 14, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, following the mass.
