Pamela Shaul Rowe

November 20, 1944 – May 15, 2026

Pamela Shaul Rowe, of Berne, New York,  completed her journey of faith and peacefully entered the presence of her Lord on May 15, 2026 after a brief illness.  She was 81 years old.

Pamela was born in Spokane, Washington on November 20, 1944, the daughter of Ray and Virginia Shaul.   Pamela is survived by her husband and love of her life,  Robert Rowe, whom she began dating at 17 years old and loved dearly for 65 years, and by her sister, Cheryl Rose (George), of Brockport, NY.  She is also survived by her three sons: Michael Rowe (Erin), of Delmar, NY; Matthew Rowe (Maria), of Candor, NY; and John Rowe, of Berne, NY.  She also leaves eight grandchildren: Noah, Ian, Mia, Dylan, Connor, Sarah, Caleb (Cara), and Samuel; five great grandchildren: Cavin, Caliah, Cerena, Calliope, and Elliot, and several nieces and nephews.

Pamela was trained as an Elementary Education Teacher at Oneonta State and Albany State, teaching Kindergarten at Burnt Hills Elementary School (NY) for 1 year, before moving to Morrisville, Vermont with her husband, Bob, in 1967. She continued teaching Kindergarten at Stowe Elementary School (Vt) for 2 years and also served as a Sunday School Superintendent at Puffer United Methodist Church in Morrisville.

When her son, John, was born in 1973 with special needs, she dedicated the remaining 52 years of her life to caring for him with absolute devotion.  Pam and John were inseparable in the Morrisville community as they enthusiastically supported the Boys Basketball teams at Peoples Academy High School where her husband coached for 32 years. Pam opened her home to the teams every year, joyfully serving her well-known lasagna before away games.

Pamela also poured her heart into several special needs students and adults in the Morrisville community in mentoring relationships and opened her home to all who would stop by to visit. Surrounded by the other moms and dear friends on Maple Street in Morrisville, she created a neighborhood of remarkable love, warmth, and acceptance.

In her retirement years, Pamela's creative and adventuresome spirit flourished in exploring the country in her RV with Bob and John, and in establishing an alpaca farm in Berne, NY, that became a special place of beauty and peace for her entire family for more than 20 years.

Pamela will be remembered as a loving, deeply spiritual woman of faith by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 10:00am  to 11:45am, with funeral services immediately following at 12:00pm at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union Street, Schenectady, New York.  Pastor Matt Rowe and Pastor Maryellen Moore will officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Colonie, NY.  A Celebration of Life picnic will be scheduled for later this summer at Pam and Bob's alpaca farm in Berne, NY, for all who wish to attend.  In addition to flowers, loved ones are encouraged to donate to a charity of their choice.
