SCOTIA:  Renate M. Dowgos, 83, died, Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Ellis Hospital. Retate was born in Breslau, Germany to the late Herbert and Gertrude (Kusch) Winkler. Renate worked as a sales assistant at Macy's in Colonie for several years.

Renate was predeceased by her husband, master sergeant retired, U.S. Army, Francis D. Dowgos, who died in 2001. She is survived by two sons; Erik (Tiziana Riccobene) Dowgos and Christopher (MaryAnn) Dowgos, three siblings; Helga Niebel, Klaus (Kari) Winkler, and Hannelore Wells, four grandchildren; Tristan Dowgos, Carlotta Dowgos, Andrew (Challena) Keith and Sara Dowgos, one great-granddaughter; Nora Keith.

Calling hours will be Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Gleason Funeral Home from 4 until 7 p.m. Burial, with a committal service, will be at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, Friday, May 16, 2025, at 9 a.m. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked at gather at the cemetery entrance at 8:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Renate's name, may be made to a charity of your choice.
